Green-Up Santa Rosa

Green-Up Santa Rosa is a retail nursery open to the public.  Proceeds from Green-Up go toward public plantings and in support of the environmental programs.

Our nursery is a wonderful place just to come visit, in addition to buying your plants there. Many folks take their lunch hour walking around and enjoying the area. We have 2 acres and the old Chavers House (built in 1901) which contains a shop called "Plants and Things". This shop offers birdhouses, butterfly houses, and garden related material.

Green-Up Santa Rosa has sponsored the planting of thousands of trees, shrubs and other material at city and county parks, schools, and many other public areas. Our nursery offers high quality plants that grow well locally (both native and well-adapted). We feature a tropical house with tropicals planted in the ground as an education tool. We also have a propagation house, where we root many of the plants we sell. Any plants that are brought in are purchased locally, within a 50 mile radius. By offering local and native plants we strive to have people come back and tell us how well the plants have grown - and we usually get that.

We offer quality plants at reasonable prices and people feel good about purchasing here because the profits go back into the community.

In addition we manage the Junius C. Williams education center, where we offer meetings (classes) on a wide variety of subjects, horticultural and environmental. Generally they are a "brown bag" class, held at lunchtime for an hour on Fridays, noon to 1PM. Schedules will be posted on this site as developed for this year.

Come to our garden center and see for yourself what plants you need for your garden. You'll be helping to Green-up Santa Rosa!

Location: 6758 Park Avenue in Milton, which is two traffic signals north from highway 90 on Stewart St, right on Park and down about half a block on the left.
